Richmond recorded its second-highest first quarter score, during Damien Hardwick’s time as coach, in last Saturday’s Round 7 clash with Port Adelaide at AAMI Stadium.
The Tigers piled on 8.2, en route to a decisive 41-point victory over the Power. It was their best opening term since Round 14, 2012, also at AAMI Stadium, when they kicked 8.3 against the Adelaide Crows, before being beaten by 19 points.

In seven rounds this season, Richmond has not lost a first quarter. They have won six and drew the Round 1 opening term with Carlton.
This is in stark contrast to the 2011 season, when the Tigers won only four first quarters and drew one.
