Nick Vlastuin is about to achieve what no other Richmond player has since before World War 2.
The triple Tiger premiership star defender will play in an eighth finals series within the first 10 years of his AFL career.
That’s something even Richmond royalty such as Kevin Bartlett, Francis Bourke, Royce Hart, Dick Clay and Michael Green could not manage throughout their time at Tigerland.
Vlastuin was a member of the Richmond side that lost the 2013 elimination final against Carlton in his debut season of AFL football.
Since then, he’s played in a further two elimination finals, four qualifying finals, a semi-final, four preliminary finals and three Grand Finals.
Vlastuin, 28, has played 189 games all-up and Thursday week’s elimination final against Brisbane at the Gabba will be his 16th final.
