Richmond trio Dion Prestia, Liam Baker and Shai Bolton have been named as the Club's nominees for the 2022 AFL Players’ Association Most Valuable Player Award.
The three Tigers were nominated by their playing peers for the annual award, and are now in contention to claim the coveted Leigh Matthews Trophy.
Prestia, 29, further solidified himself as one of the competition's top midfielders this season with his consistent ball-winning ability, two-way running and composure.
The triple-premiership player and 2019 Jack Dyer Medallist has been dominant for the Tigers in 2022, averaging 25.6 disposals, 13.2 kicks, 12,4 handballs, 11.4 contested possessions, 5.9 clearances, 395.5 metres gained and 6.2 score involvements per game across his 17 outings.
Twenty-four-year-old Baker, who is up for the award for the second year in a row, has once again been a vital member of Richmond's list in 2022, his versatility and tenacity two of his biggest strengths.
The consistent Tiger has continued his superb form into this season, playing all 22 home and away games while averaging 19.3 disposals, 10.6 kicks, 6.9 contested possessions, 8.7 handballs, 3.0 inside-50s and 5.3 score involvements per match.
The tough defender, who recently re-signed with the club for another two years, has also been nominated for the competition's Most Courageous award for the third consecutive year.
Excitement machine Shai Bolton rounds out the Tigers' nominees after a career-best season.
Playing across all 22 off the Tigers' home and away clashes, the young gun showcased his importance to the side as he averaged 17.9 disposals, 4.5 inside-50s, 11.3 kicks, 370.7 metres gained and 9.3 contested possessions per game, booting a total of 40 goals.
The 2022 MVP Awards will be held on Wednesday August 24.
The nomination for the MVP Award is a two-stage process. The first involves players nominating three teammates for the award, before three nominees from every club are presented to the wider playing group for a vote to decide the winner.
Players cannot vote for their own teammates in stage two of the process.
Richmond's other nominees for AFLPA Awards are Josh Gibcus for Best First Year player, and Tigers co-captains Dylan Grimes and Toby Nankervis for the League's Best Captain.
