Damien Hardwick has surpassed Tommy Hafey for the most finals series as Richmond’s coach.
The Tigers’ big win against Hawthorn at the MCG yesterday secured their finals spot in season 2022, and for the eighth time during Hardwick’s reign as coach.
Richmond’s finals campaigns under Hardwick have been in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and now 2022.
Hafey guided the Tigers into the finals in 1967, 1969, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974 and 1975.
Hardwick is the longest-serving coach in Tigerland’s history, having coached 295 games all-up for 166 wins, five draws and 124 losses.
