Robbie Tarrant has polled votes in the prestigious AFL Coaches’ Association’s Player of the Year award for a third consecutive week.

The valuable veteran Richmond key defender received four votes for his first-rate display in the Tigers’ Round 19 draw with Fremantle at Marvel Stadium.

He restricted dangerous Dockers forward Matthew Taberner to just one goal and finished the match with an impressive 14 disposals, eight marks, five intercepts, three rebound-50s and six one-percenters.

Tarrant picked up two votes in the previous round against his former club North Melbourne and two the week before that v Gold Coast.

His backline teammate Nick Vlastuin also was given four votes for his sterling performance on the night – 23 disposals, six marks, eight intercepts, five rebound-50s, three score involvements, six tackles and 266 metres gained.

Star Tiger midfielder Dion Prestia, with 30 disposals, 16 contested possessions, five marks, five intercepts, four inside-50s. eight clearances, seven score involvements, three tackles and 347 metres gained, was awarded three votes.

Rounding out Richmond’s vote-getters was co-captain Dylan Grimes with one vote.
