Richmond’s joint major partner Latitude ensured a very special moment for a long-time Club volunteer on the weekend.
Latitude, Australia’s leading provider of interest-free shopping and consumer finance, provided Allan Hurley with the chance to toss the coin prior to Saturday’s game against Collingwood in front of 64,000 fans at the MCG.
Allan has been a regular fixture in the change rooms and on the ground at Richmond over many years, helping to give others Junior Mascot and Coin Toss experiences.
But for last weekend’s game, Latitude saw something special in giving Allan the chance to this time toss the coin himself, as part of their Match Day partnership.
“As partners in money, Latitude are here for life’s (and footy’s) moments, big or small,” Latitude's Georgina Foley said.
“And we know there are no better moments than those that happen with our beloved footy team.
“Whether it’s playing an important part on match day, sewing your favourite players number on your first jumper, following your team’s draft picks, or rejoicing in the ultimate Premiership flag, we are here to support the mighty Tigers and the dedicated Tiger Army.”
Allan said he was greatly appreciative of Latitude’s gesture.
“It was an amazing experience and I’m very grateful that Latitude saw fit to offer it to me,” he said.
“The Club wouldn’t be what it is today without the support of its fans, members, partners and the volunteers. We’re lucky at the Club that we’ve got so many great people, so I feel very privileged to have done this today.”
And while the coin toss did not go co-captain Dylan Grimes’ way, Allan was provided with a big moment that is one to remember.
