Richmond VFL coach Steve Morris provides a summary of how the Tigers’ players performed in Sunday's Round 5 match against Casey.
Lachlan Street (28 disposals, 21 kicks, 11 marks, nine rebound-50s)
"Continues to rack up the footy in big numbers. Was a little bit inconsistent with his decision-making and ball use on the weekend, which are usually strengths of his."
Tyler Sonsie (25 disposals, five rebound-50s, four marks)
"Had a couple of moments that would really excite Tiger fans. His lateral movement really stood out and his decision-making in traffic is a real strength of his."
Jake Aarts (21 disposals, 10 tackles, four clearances, one goal)
"Had a red-hot crack on the weekend and was superb once again. He continues to hit the contest hard and his 10 tackles highlights his willingness to compete."
Judson Clarke (17 disposals, six inside-50s, five tackles, one goal)
"Had a bit of a different role in the first half playing through the midfield and had a great first half, which was good for his development and flexibility moving forward. He's taking really great steps forward in his development."
Sydney Stack (17 disposals, eight clearances, four tackles, one goal)
"Had an excellent first half. He really impacted when he was up and around the footy and had a classy finish in front of goal."
Samson Ryan (16 disposals, 47 hit-outs, six clearances, four inside-50s)
"It was a great opportunity for him to test himself against a really good ruckman in Majak Daw. Samson had 47 hit-outs and probably just needs to tidy up a couple of technical things that he'll be working on in the coming weeks."
Bailey Henderson (16 disposals, six marks, one goal)
"Bit of a mixed bag for Bailey, but he had some really good moments. He worked his way into the game quite well in the second half."
Will Martyn (15 disposals, 10 tackles, four rebound-50s)
"His hunger for the contest cannot be questioned, highlighted by his 10 tackles. He's developing nicely down back and is starting to get more consistently involved in our offence which is a continual focus of his."
Bigoa Nyuon (14 disposals, nine marks, seven rebound-50s)
"He once again had a really solid game. His aerial work was a standout and he took nine marks, including a number of intercept possessions. He's getting involved in our offence, he just needs to tidy up a couple of errors."
Sam Banks (13 disposals, eight marks, four inside-50s)
"He's progressing really nicely, Sam. His run is really noticeable out on the wings and he's a beautiful ball user. A couple of his contests, both in the air and at ground level, also stood out."
Misilifi Faimalo (12 disposals, four tackles, four marks)
"Had a good day. He had a couple of moments where he had an opportunity to really get involved in our offence and it will be a really good learning curve for him. We want to see him continuously taking the game on."
Jack Sexton (12 disposals, five inside-50s, four tackles)
"First game for Jack and he gave us everything that we expected. He hit the contest hard, he's extremely diligent in his preparation and he takes pride in his contest work. He had a really sound debut."
Mykelti Lefau (10 disposals, three clearances, two goals)
"He had a couple of contests that you would need to see to really believe. He's continuously improving and has been a great addition to our forward line. He's a really good key target, he finished with two goals but could have easily finished with a couple more."
Ben Miller (10 disposals, three tackles, two clearances)
"Dropped down from AFL duties the previous week. I would have liked to see a little bit more from Ben. He'll have a real focus on his contest work in the coming weeks, but we know he's got all the attributes and he's a beautiful user of the footy."
Nick Guiney (10 disposals, five tackles, two clearances)
"Nick has looked really at home in his two appearances at VFL level. Once again, his attack at the contest was something that really stood out on the day, playing through both the midfield and half-back."
Jackson Davies (nine disposals, four marks, two tackles)
"He was reliable down back but we really want to see him increase his offensive output across the back half, and get our game up and going. He's a really good intercept player at his best."
Cameron Olden (eight disposals, three tackles, one goal)
"Cam was lively and battled through a bit of an injury complaint but stayed out on the park for the team, but probably wasn't at his absolute best as a result."
Tyler Young (eight disposals, three rebound-50s)
"Tyler has been outstanding in defence over the past month. He'll now have a focus on getting involved more offensively as he's got great speed and power, and he's a pretty good ball user as well."
Maurice Rioli (seven disposals, four tackles, three inside-50s)
"A quieter game offensively but his impact on the game was still quite high. He had a couple of inspirational defensive efforts that really got us going in the second half."
Sam Tucker (six disposals, two marks, one goal)
"Kicked a goal on debut and took a couple of towering marks as a young key forward, and halved a number of other contests. We'll just be looking for him to consistently develop the aerial contest part of his game."
Austin Johnson (six disposals, seven tackles, one goal)
"Was a lot quieter on the weekend offensively. But his intent to step in and tackle was still at a high level, and he'll look to bounce back with an increased offensive output against Port Melbourne in a couple of weeks' time."
Jackson Bowne (six disposals, three marks, two tackles)
"It was a really good opportunity for him to see what's required of him to compete at this level. He's had great growth over the last couple of months and hopefully, this springboards his development over the next couple of years."
Angus Hicks (five disposals, three tackles)
"Had a really good start to the game after a quiet game the week before. Unfortunately, he succumbed to injury just before half-time, but it was really good to see him bounce back period to that. "
