Richmond ruckman Shaun Hampson, with the help of many Tiger team-mates, has thrown his support behind this year’s Movember campaign.
Supporting the cause is close to Hampson’s heart, after his father Tom lost his battle with prostate cancer earlier this year.
Hampson has recently signed on as an Ambassador for Movember, an organisation committed to changing the face of men’s health, with a focus on prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health.

After his father battled with prostate cancer for six years, Tom Hampson lost his fight early this year, just weeks before Shaun became a first-time father himself.
“This year my dad passed away from prostate cancer, so I wanted to do a little bit more this year than I have in past years, I took the initiative to get as many of the Richmond boys on board as I could,” Hampson said in an interview with Roar Vision.
“There’s 20-25 boys that put their hand up to participate (in Movember) and the ones that didn’t, want to donate some money, so it’s really good to see that many boys getting on board, and staff members (both) female and male.”
Hampson, along with team mates David Astbury, Ben Griffiths and Sam Lloyd, had a final shave by barbers at the ME Bank Centre, before Movember officially begins tomorrow (Saturday, November 1).
