Here’s what Richmond triple premiership heroes Dylan Grimes and Toby Nankervis each had to say in front of their Tiger teammates today following the announcement of their historic appointments as co-captains to replace the Club’s longest-serving skipper Trent Cotchin.

"Nank summed it up perfectly just before. He said there’s a little bit about this that we find pretty daunting, but there’s a big part about this that we’re incredibly excited about. So unbelievably honoured and humbled by the support you guys have shown us, and also Trent in stepping down (as captain) . . . what you’ve already given us as leaders has been immense. Grateful to still be able to learn from you in the next period of time. In short, just so excited. Really looking forward to the growth and what’s to come for us all in 2022, but also Nank and I."
Toby Nankervis
"Just like to acknowledge what Trent’s done for the footy club over the last period. So grateful to be able to run out behind you, Cotch. Big shoes to fill, obviously, but me and Grimesy are up for the challenge, and we’re going to attack it. Make some mistakes along the way, but we’re up for the fight and can’t wait to continue the journey on."
