In the fifth and final part of a special 1971 Richmond Annual Report flashback series leading into the Club’s 2021 Annual General Meeting this evening, we reproduce some other items of interest from the publication.

OUR No. 1 MEMBER
Our Number One member, His Excellency the Governor, Sir Rohan Delacombe, again attended many of our matches and displayed a keen interest in the activities of the Club.
We are very proud to have Sir Rohan as our Number One member and look forward to his continued support in Season 1972.
PRESIDENT
The Club suffered one of its saddest blows in the sudden passing of our late esteemed and respected President, Mr. Ray Dunn. The Club is deeply indebted to the outstanding services given by Mr. Dunn in his life-long association with the Tigers.
His inspiring leadership; his dedication to the Club; his generosity; his advice to all who needed help or assistance; his charitable efforts, will always be remembered. The Richmond Football Club lost a great sportsman and gentleman with his passing.
Deputy President, Mr. Alan Boord, was elevated to the important position of President by the Committee. During the period in which he has acted in this vital role, he has conducted himself with great dignity, integrity and dedication.
Mr. Boord has a wide knowledge of the administration and financial structure of League football and there is no doubt he will be a fine President.
PATRON
Mr. Maurie Fleming continues his active association with the Tigers and is always available and ready to assist when called upon by the Club – a wonderful clubman and friend to all.
