Richmond and Fremantle continued their tradition of playing in nail-biting finishes against each other at Perth’s Optus Stadium last Sunday when the home team emerged victorious by four points.
The Tigers and Dockers have met 39 times all-up since the WA club entered the AFL competition in 1995, with nine of those matches being decided by under a goal.
In three other games the final margin has been 10 points or less.
Fremantle’s inaugural AFL match, in Round 1 of the 1995 season, resulted in a five-point loss to Richmond.
The Tigers led the under-a-goal win tally three-nil early on, but the Dockers have turned that around with four in recent times.
Overall, Richmond has won four and Fremantle five of their nine cliff-hanger contests.
