Kane Lambert was rewarded for his seamless return to the Richmond line-up against West Coast last Sunday with the team’s most votes for the match in the 2021 AFL Coaches’ Association’s Champion Player of the Year Round 13 voting.
The top-class, triple premiership Tiger midfielder, who had missed six games due to a calf injury, was superb, finishing with a team-high 27 disposals, three inside-50, three rebound-50s, three tackles, two goals, six score involvements, four intercepts and 280 metres gained.
He received six votes from respective coaches Damien Hardwick and Adam Simpson.
Star Richmond defender Nick Vlastuin picked up five votes for his strong showing on the night – 23 disposals, nine marks, a game-high 11 intercepts, four rebound-50s, three inside-50s, eight one-percenters and 465 metres gained.
Tigers champion Dustin Martin – 23 disposals, seven inside-50s, six clearances, two goals, six score involvements and a team-high 571 metres gained – polled one vote.
