Two of the most impressive young footballers in the country have spent this week with Richmond’s senior list.
Ben Lennon and Nick Bourke, members of the AFL’s AIS Academy Squad, have joined in with the Tigers’ training sessions, conditioning and recovery sessions.
They have also had access to the Club’s coaches and development staff to enhance their skills.
30 players in the AIS program, all of which are eligible for the 2013 National Draft, were allocated to AFL clubs for a week each, to get an insight into the requirements of a league footballer.
Lennon is a classy utility player from the Northern Knights, who will be splitting his time between the TAC Cup, Vic Metro and Marcellin College in 2013.
Bourke, from the Geelong Falcons, is a running midfielder/half back who will represent Vic Country in 2013.
The AIS youngsters will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Trent Cotchin and Liam McBean, who trained with Richmond as members of the academy before later being drafted to Tigerland.
