Jack Riewoldt’s five-goal haul against Port Adelaide at AAMI Stadium last Saturday was the 28th time in his past 66 games that the star Richmond spearhead has kicked four goals or more.
Since Round 8, 2010, Riewoldt has managed to achieve this four-goal match return at a highly-impressive 42% strike-rate.
He did it eight times in 2010, nine in 2011, eight in 2012 and, so far this season, has scored four goal or more on three occasions.
After seven rounds of the 2013 season, Riewoldt is in equal second place on the competition’s goalkicking list, with 24 goals, which is just one behind the leader, North Melbourne’s Lindsay Thomas.
The dual Coleman Medallist has eight more goals than at the corresponding stage last season.
Along the way this year, he has moved into 11th place on Richmond’s all-time goalkicking table, with 286 goals from his 119 games, having passed David Cloke (272 goals) and Percy Bentley (275 goals).
He is now only 20 goals behind former Richmond captain, Jeff Hogg, who is in 10th place, with 306 goals.
