Richmond has confirmed the re-signing of four players – forward Aaron Edwards, defender Jake Batchelor, and tall, key-position pair Ben Griffiths and Todd Elton.
The four have all signed one-year deals with the Club.
Edwards, 29, played nine games and kicked 14 goals in his first season at Tigerland, after being traded by North Melbourne in October last year.
He finished the season strongly, with 11 goals in the Tigers’ last three games of the season (five v GWS, Round 22, four v Essendon, Round 23 and two v Carlton, elimination final) and offered a different dimension to the team’s attack through his hit-up leading.
Batchelor, 21, was Richmond’s second selection (pick 30 overall) in the 2010 National Draft.
He managed nine games at AFL level this year, to take his overall tally to 39 over three seasons.
Griffiths, 22, was the Tigers’ second pick (No. 19 overall) in the 2009 National Draft.
His sole appearance in the Richmond line-up during the 2013 season was in the opening round win against Carlton. He has played 19 AFL games all-up.
Elton, 20, was taken by the Tigers at pick 26 overall in the 2011 National Draft.
He made his senior league debut in the Round 14, 2012 clash with Adelaide at AAMI Stadium, but hasn’t played at AFL level since.
