Richmond will host GWS at 7.25pm on Saturday May 15 at Marvel Stadium before travelling to Brisbane for a Friday night Gabba clash as part of the fixture announced by the AFL today.
The Tigers/GWS clash which is the two sides’ first ever game against each other at Marvel Stadium will be televised on FOX FOOTY and Kayo Sports.
The rematch of last season’s qualifying final against the Lions will then be played in prime time on Friday night at the Gabba.
It will be Richmond’s first game back at the Gabba since last year’s premiership triumph. Fittingly, just like the historic Grand Final, the contest will be played under lights.
The match will be broadcast live on Channel 7, with the first bounce at 7.50pm.
AFL Head of Broadcasting and Scheduling Marcus King said Rounds Nine and Ten offered a particularly good spread of competitive matchups.
“We have a few weeks until Rounds Nine and Ten are upon us, but they appear to be a potential nightmare for tipsters,” Mr King said.
“Looking ahead, we plan on releasing Rounds 11 and 12 next week, followed by, subject to any Covid setbacks, a minimum four week block to provide further certainty for clubs and fans.”
