Richmond established another record in the Damien Hardwick coaching era with its 2021 season-opener victory over Carlton at the MCG last Thursday night.

It was the Tigers’ seventh successive Round 1 win – 2015-21 – which is the most in the Club’s history.

The previous best opening round winning sequence by Richmond was six, from 1931-36.

Richmond’s longest Round 1 losing run is 12, from 1983-94.
