Rex Hunt, Mick Malthouse, Bruce Monteath and Geoff Raines will be among 18 former Richmond players inducted as Life Members at the Club's Annual General Meeting this Wednesday, December 11, as a result of changes made to eligibility criteria.
The Richmond Football Club board recently resolved to amend the Club’s Life Membership eligibility criteria to elevate the standing of past players that have been a part of premiership winning sides.
“The Board wanted to reaffirm the importance of premiership success to the Richmond Football Club, and has now amended the eligibility criteria to induct Life Members,” Richmond President, Peggy O’Neal said.
Under the changes, players will now automatically qualify to be considered Life Members of the Richmond Football Club if:
- Those players have played in multiple premierships
- Those players have played in a single premiership and a minimum of 100 senior games
The players will be formally recognised as Life Members at the Club’s Annual General Meeting, held in the Maurice Rioli Room at the ME Bank Centre, Punt Road Oval at 6pm on Wednesday, December 11. All Richmond members are welcome to attend.
