Some current Tigers have spoken in glowing terms of Richmond milestone man Brett Deledio, who plays his 200^th match against GWS this Saturday.

At 27 years of age, Deledio will become the youngest player in Tigerland history to reach the milestone, 142 days younger than Kevin Bartlett (who went on to play 403 games).

“He’s probably a player that probably doesn’t get the recognition I think he deserves,” said Richmond coach Damien Hardwick.

“He’s the prototype of the modern player in the game.  He’s incredibly talented from a skill perspective, but also from an endurance and speed perspective as well.”

Tiger midfielder Dan Jackson has watched Deledio’s career blossom over the last eight seasons.

“When he started we had some pretty tough times at the footy club, and he was one of the bright, shining lights for the Tiger faithful,” he said.

“He’s certainly delivered above and beyond as an individual player over the years.”

Former Richmond skipper and 240-game veteran, Chris Newman, said Deledio was a team-mate you can rely on.

“He’s a bloke that if he’s around you, you give him the football, because you know that he’s going to make the right decision, hit that target, kick the goal,” he said.

“We rely on Brett to stand up in the big occasions, and he does that.”
