Out went Dan Butler (VFL), Reece Conca (Fremantle), Trent Cotchin (injured), Jack Graham (VFL), Shaun Grigg (retired), Kane Lambert (injured), Callum Moore (injured), Toby Nankervis (injured), Alex Rance (injured), Jack Riewoldt (injured) and Jayden Short (injured).
Coming in were Liam Baker, Noah Balta, Shai Bolton, Jason Castagna, Callum Coleman-Jones, Ryan Garthwaite, Bachar Houli, Tom Lynch, Dion Prestia, Daniel Rioli and Sydney Stack.
Essendon’s 2019 Dreamtime team contained 15 of the same players who appeared in the 2018 match.
