Richmond's premiership winning team prior to the start of the 2020 AFL Grand Final.

Notwithstanding the several key playing personnel Richmond had sidelined for much of the shortened 2020 season because of injury or personal reasons, the Tigers ended up using their least number of players in a premiership year since 1934.

A total of 33 players represented Richmond in its 17 home-and-away games plus four finals during the season.

That is in contrast to last year, when the Tigers used 39 players, which was the equal-second most by a premiership team throughout AFL/VFL history.

But only three players appeared in all of Richmond’s 21 games for the 2020 season – Jason Castagna, Jack Riewoldt and Jayden Short.
