If this season has been the making of Shai Bolton, then the first half of last night’s semi-final at Metricon Stadium was one of its finest moments.
The electric, young Tiger was everywhere, kicking three goals in a dazzling performance before the main break.
Bolton's first two goals were brilliant – the first after shimmying his opponent on the 50-metre line and getting a favourable bounce, and the second smartly flicking the ball to himself before trickling it through from the outside of his boot.
Bolton played in last year's premiership for Richmond but has been one of the biggest improvers in the competition this year.
At just 21, stardom awaits.
Dual premiership Tiger Kane Lambert provided an insight into Bolton’s considerable capability at the game’s highest level in an interview with SEN this afternoon.
“He was electrifying last night,” Lambert.
“He’s carried a pretty heavy burden this year, played a lot of midfield time for a young guy.
“We’ve seen his growth . . .

“I think he becomes a really tough match-up when he goes forward because he’s got a phenomenal leap on him, but then, when it hits the ground, he’s just got ability to change direction.
“So, he’s going to be a real weapon for us going forward.
“We can put him in the midfield to give us a spark but going forward he’s a really tough match-up.
“He’s been building for a number of years now . . .
“Shai’s going to play a big part come next week (in the preliminary final against Port Adelaide).”
