Richmond is preparing for a different Gold Coast team to the one that lost to Melbourne by 96 points at the MCG last Sunday, both in personnel and attitude.
Key Suns players Steven May, Rory Thompson and David Swallow are expected to return for Saturday afternoon’s clash at Metricon Stadium.
The fact of the matter is we’ve got a Gold Coast side that will bounce back heavily after last week’s loss,” said Richmond coach Damien Hardwick.
“They’re playing on their home deck, so they want to put on a good show for their fans.
“It’s going to be a different game than what you saw last week.
“We certainly know that if they win the contested ball they win ball games.
“They’ve won that four times, and they’ve won all those four games. So that’s going to be a big contest.
“It’s going to be a high stoppage game, as well, the way they play.
“So, once again, the contested nature of the game, as with most weeks, is going to be really important.
“It’s especially going to be important against a side that didn’t play their best last week. They’ll be smarting from that . . .
“We’ve got to make sure we come to play and put our best foot forward.
“We’ve seen through previous examples over time, if you don’t play at 100 percent, you’ll get beaten. This week’s no different . . .
“We feel as if we bring our A-game, we’re a good chance of winning.”
