Valuable Richmond veteran midfielder Shaun Grigg is rapt his stay at Tigerland has been extended for at least one more season, following today’s announcement that he had signed a new contract deal with the Club.

Grigg and the Tigers have been a good match since he joined them during the AFL’s 2010 trade period after a 43-game career at Carlton.

He has now played 170 games for Richmond, including last year’s Grand Final triumph over Adelaide, and he’s been one of the team’s most consistent performers throughout the past eight seasons, averaging 22.3 disposals per match.

“I’m looking forward to rolling around again . . . I’m pretty excited that I’ll be here next year,” Grigg said.

“I’ve just tried to play good, consistent footy again and to help out the team in any way.

“Whether it’s helping out the younger boys, or just playing any sort of role, I’m happy to do it.

“I still feel really good, both physically and mentally.

“I haven’t hit that wall yet, where you dread pre-season, or anything like that.

“I feel like I’ve still got a bit more to give.”
