Dual premiership defender Nathan Broad and livewire Jack Higgins will return to Richmond’s side for Wednesday night’s clash with Fremantle at Metricon Stadium.
The pair replace Dylan Grimes who injured his hamstring in last Thursday's win against West Coast and Kane Lambert who has a minor hip complaint.
Richmond coach Damien Hardwick said Broad’s inclusion would help solidify the team’s back six, which will be without Grimes for the first time since Round 3, 2019.
“He probably, from our point of view, was not playing that poorly, we just had players playing better,” Hardwick said at his press conference this morning referring to Broad’s recent omission.
“He comes in in good form and we are very confident he will be able to do the job.”
Higgins returns to the side for the first time since the Round 10 win over Brisbane following strong form in recent scrimmages. It will be his tenth game for the 2020 season.
Yet-to-debut trio Riley Collier-Dawkins, Hugo Ralphsmith and Ben Miller have been named as emergencies, along with fellow youngster Jack Ross.
