Richmond development coach Ryan Ferguson provides an exclusive summary of the AFL and VFL-listed players who featured in last Saturday's 31-point win over Frankston.

AFL-listed

Andrew Moore
37 disposals, 11 clearances, 20 contested possessions, 14 handball receives

He was really strong, put in a four quarter effort and was really strong in the last (quarter) like a lot of guys. He was one that played four strong quarters of footy for us.

Nathan Broad
26 disposals, 11 marks, 10 handball receives

It was one of Nathan Broad’s best games that we’ve seen for the Club. He had six intercept marks, 26 disposals and gave us lots of rebound. His contest work was really strong and the rest of his game unfolded from there.

Jacob Townsend
24 disposals, 10 tackles, 14 handball receives, five clearances

Again was really solid — a tackling machine. He had 10 or 11 tackles for us and his pressure around the ball is becoming really vital for our team.

Dan Butler
22 disposals, 13 contested possessions, six tackles

Was really lively again, he’s really starting to put some form together. His forward pressure was outstanding and he was able to look really dangerous at times.

Connor Menadue
22 disposals, 16 uncontested possessions, nine handball receives

Had a slower start. We tried him off half-back and he had a few nice pieces of play where he looked like he was really going to break through. It wasn’t until later in the game, when he went into the midfield that he really got a hold of the game and impacted severely for us. It was good to see him get around the ball.

Ivan Maric
25 hit-outs, 12 disposals, five clearances

Like “Couchy” (Tom Couch), Ivan was one of our better players until he hurt his back just before three-quarter time. The last few weeks he’s started to be really strong for us.

Callum Moore
12 disposals, three marks, one tackle

Probably struggled to impact up forward, but when we put him back he took his moments. It might not have been his game overall, but he stood up in the moments and had some critical ones in the last quarter to help us get the game on our terms.

Todd Elton
Two goals, nine disposals, three marks

He kicked 2.2 and looked really lively. He probably could have had more. He dropped a few (marks) that he’d like to take, but it’s been great to see him attacking his footy and we’ve loved the way he’s been going about it in the last few weeks.

Liam McBean
One goal, nine disposals, five marks

He really could have torn the game apart early. He looked like he was going to take it by the scruff of the neck. He eased off a little bit but then again in the last quarter, when the game was there to be won, he stood-up.

Ivan Soldo
26 hit-outs, one goal, four tackles, eight disposals, three marks

Was absolutely stellar in the last quarter. We challenged him at three-quarter time and we saw the response. Six hit-outs to advantage, kicked a goal, was physical and he got the ball down to our mids so we could lock it in our half. He was fantastic when Ivan Maric went off, but was solid all day as well.

Mabior Chol
Six disposals, two marks, three tackles

“Marbs” started really well down back and then found it hard with match-ups. They (Frankston) went pretty small up forward, so he lost his way a little bit. When we swung him forward he was able to impact by taking a couple of marks and laying some really strong tackles. It was good to see that he was thrown around, but still able to respond.

VFL-listed

Jacob Ballard
30 disposals, five tackles, eight marks, one goal

Was also really strong for us. Pretty similar to “Moorey” (Andrew Moore), he’s had a pretty strong month now and his last quarter was really strong. He’s putting together some really consistent foot — he’s a real bull for us.

Sam Darley
19 disposals, nine handball receives, four marks

Was another who started a bit slower than he would have liked, but his leadership in the second-half really shone through. He was stellar for us.

Nick Mellington
19 disposals, seven clearances, one goal

Another guy who’s really starting to build some form. His pressure and his energy and his goal in the last quarter was really important to us. His energy around the ball and around the group was really important for us.

Ryan Gale
18 disposals, seven marks, three tackles

Ryan Gale really stood-up in the last quarter — one of our leaders and he stood-up when the game was there to be won. He led the way from the front which was great.

Jake Aarts
Three goals, 15 disposals, four inside-50s

We love the way he goes about his footy. He always plays a role for us and his energy around the group was fantastic again. He really impacted the game.

Tom Silvestro
14 disposals, five tackles, two clearances

His hard running all day, on the wing and into the half-forward role was really strong again. We know what we’re going to get with “Tommy” every week.

Tom Langford
13 disposals, four inside 50s, six handball receives

Probably would have liked to have a bigger influence. He held onto the ball a little too much at times. He’s a proud man and he’ll be keen to improve on his efforts. His energy around the group and leadership is still really important to us.

Tom Couch
12 disposals, three clearances, two tackles

Was one of our better players until he went off with a pretty severe corky. That hurt us, but he was one of our key players until he went down.

James Fletcher
12 disposals, one goal, six tackles

A really young guy that’s come in and made an impact. His goal in the last quarter was a bit of icing on the cake. It was good to see the guys get around him. His work rate and his hunger to improve is really shining through at the moment.

Ash Morris
12 disposals, three marks, four handball receives

A small back and they (Frankston) had some nifty small forwards, so he played a really important role for us in shutting down those guys. He gave us lots of energy, but also gave us a little bit of run at times and broke through and gave us some ball use off the backline.

Jarred Ellis
10 disposals, one goal, three marks

A first gamer and it was really impressive to see him. He’s coming off a long-term injury and the way he’s worked his way back into the team has been fantastic. He struggled early to find the pace of it, but come the last quarter, he was influential as anyone It was good to see 17 guys get to him after his goal, which was really important early in the last (quarter).

Dan Coffield
Nine disposals, one tackle, five contested possessions

“Coff’s” contest work was really strong, we can rely on that. Every week we rely on Coff for his contest, so he didn’t let us down again with that. He also played on a really dangerous player in Cavarra (Ben) for much of the day and did a pretty good job.
