Star Richmond midfielder Dustin Martin led the way for the Tigers in the 2020 AFL Coaches’ Association’s Champion Player Award for the Round 8 match against Greater Western Sydney.

The dual premiership Tiger, who produced his best display of the 2020 season, polled seven votes for his performance at Giants Stadium.

He collected a season-high 23 disposals, a season-high and game-high 14 contested possessions, a season-high/game-high nine clearances, season-high/game-high eight inside-50s, season-high five marks, equal season-high two goals, seven score involvements and a season-high/game-high 506 metres gained.

Speedy youngster Shai Bolton, who is thriving in a new midfield role, was the other Tiger to appear in the coaches’ votes.

The 21-year-old had 19 disposals, with six inside-50s, five clearances, an equal game-high/season-high eight score involvements, 499 metres gained and kicked a goal.
