Richmond has made just one change for Sunday’s Round 5 clash with the West Coast Eagles at Etihad Stadium . . .

Young defender Matt Dea comes in for his first senior game this season, replacing Addam Maric, who has been omitted.

Dea has been promoted on the back of a best-on-ground performance for Coburg in last Sunday’s VFL match against Frankston. 

He gathered 29 possessions in his role across half-back, winning plenty of one-on-one contests and providing strong run out of defence.

The 20-year-old has played seven senior games in total for Richmond since making his league debut in 2010, with his last appearance being against North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium in the final home-and-away round of the 2011 season.

Richmond’s three emergencies for Sunday’s match are Ben Griffiths, Angus Graham and Jeromey Webberley.
