Richmond coach Damien Hardwick will qualify for AFL Life Membership next Sunday when the Tigers take on the Western Bulldogs at the MCG.

It will be Hardwick’s 300th official game as a league player and coach, since making his playing debut for Essendon in 1994.

Hardwick, who turns 40 later this month, played 153 premiership matches and 13 pre-season games with the Bombers, 54 premiership matches and five pre-season games for Port Adelaide, plus four International matches for Australia.

He’s now coached Richmond in 62 premiership matches and eight pre-season games.

In 11 seasons as a player at the game’s highest level, Hardwick achieved the ultimate success - a premiership - on two occasions.

He played in Essendon’s 2000 premiership team and was a member of Port Adelaide’s 2004 flag side, in what was his last game of league football.
