Richmond recently re-launched its bequest program, the Richmond Bequest Society, at a lunch in the ME Bank Centre’s Maurice Rioli Room.
The event was attended by 88 people, who were entertained by Club “immortal”, Tommy Hafey, as he reflected on his 10-year tenure as coach of Richmond, comparing the differences in the role, from then to now.
Richmond’s Recruiting Manager, Francis Jackson, discussed the Club’s future direction, with insights into its drafting strategy and information about each of the Club’s recruits from the 2012 National Draft.
The launch provided an opportunity to recognise the people who have previously been members of the Club’s bequest program, formally induct new members, and present families of former members with plaques of appreciation and acknowledge their bequest to the Club.
Also in attendance was Neville Crowe, former player and president of the Richmond Football Club. Crowe started the former bequest program at the Club, and is now a Patron of the Richmond Bequest Society.
Richmond CEO Brendon Gale expressed the importance of bequest program, and its role in assisting the long-term security of the Club.
“The Richmond Bequest Society is another important strategy for this football club to look after its long-term future, and we thank each of the current members in the program for their lasting commitment to Richmond,” Gale said.
