Trent Cotchin’s outstanding season for Richmond has culminated in an equal-second finish in the 2012 Brownlow Medal.

Cotchin polled 26 votes in the count, equal with Hawthorn’s Sam Mitchell, and four votes behind Essendon’s Jobe Watson.

The 22-year-old polled 11 of a possible 12 votes in the last four rounds of the season, to flash to the top reaches of the leaderboard.
Overall, Cotchin polled votes in 11 of his 22 games for the 2012 season, and was adjudged best afield by the umpires on six occasions.

Brett Deledio was the Tigers’ second best vote-getter with 13, while Shaun Grigg (11) and Shane Tuck (10) also reached double figures.
