Daniel Jackson is set to become just the sixth current-day Richmond player to reach league football’s 100-game milestone, when he lines up against the West Coast Eagles in Sunday’s Round 20 clash at Subiaco . . .

Jackson will join fellow Tiger centurions Chris Newman (192), Brett Deledio (145), Brad Miller (142), Shane Tuck (135) and Nathan Foley (105).

It’s just over seven years since a then 18-year-old Jackson made his senior league debut for Richmond, in the Round 16, 2004 match against St Kilda at the ground formerly known as Telstra Dome (nowadays Etihad Stadium).

The Tigers lost that game by 44 points, with Matthew Richardson kicking six of the team’s nine goals.

Young ‘Jacko’, who had been recruited by Richmond from Carey Grammar, at pick 53 overall in the 2003 AFL National Draft, was solid on debut, picking up 13 possessions, taking three marks and applying five tackles.

Over his 99 league appearances, he has averaged just over 17 disposals per game and been a valuable member of the side, renowned for his grunt work in the midfield.
