Matthew Richardson previews Sunday's Round 6 clash against Sydney at the Gabba.
1. Injuries bring opportunity
With several of Richmond’s senior group missing through injury or personal reasons, opportunities for younger players have opened to play at AFL level. Similar to the 2019 season, the fast-tracking of young talent at the highest level will only hold Richmond’s list in good stead.

The majority of the playing group will be in the Queensland hub for at least the next four rounds. This provides the Tigers with an opportunity to strengthen their connection as they spend time together. Getting away as a group has always been relished by the Richmond playing group.
3. Fan factor
The Tiger Army hasn’t been present at a senior Richmond AFL game since last year’s Grand Final. With fans able to attend games at Metricon Stadium and the Gabba, expect Queensland’s Tiger fans to energise the playing group.
