Tenacious Tiger small defender Steven Morris has won himself another fan . . .
After endearing himself to teammates, coaches, former players and supporters alike, with bold, brave on-field deeds in his 2012 debut season, Morris now has mature-age Richmond recruit, Troy Chaplin, firmly in his corner as well.
Chaplin, who joined the Tigers during the AFL’s free-agency period last October following a 140-game career at Port Adelaide, is relishing playing alongside Morris in the team’s backline.
“We always know what we’re going to get out of Steve. He’d run through a brick wall for his teammates,” Chaplin said on RSN.
“This year, he’s played on Betts (Carlton), Milne (St Kilda) and Dalhaus (Western Bulldogs), and he hasn’t been beaten yet.”
Morris restricted Betts to two goals in the opening round, Milne to one goal in Round 2, and Dalhaus to one goal in last Sunday’s Round 3 clash – three dangerous small forwards, with the capacity to create big problems for the opposition.
“He makes everyone else stand up around him, just the way he plays, with his endeavour and his attack on the footy and the man.”
