Richmond defender Troy Chaplin has shot out to a handy lead at the halfway point of the ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ player challenge series on Roar Vision.
Chaplin, along with Brett Deledio, Jack Riewoldt and Chris Newman, are vying for supremacy in a number of sporting pursuits, to see who will become the ‘King of the Jungle’.
Already, the contestants have battled it out in basketball, golf and cricket challenges, with Chaplin holding the overall lead on 28 points.
On the back of a strong performance in the golf challenge, Newman is holding on for second spot on 22 points, while Deledio’s skill with the cricket bat has helped him to third place on 20 points.
Riewoldt showed his strength in the golf challenge, but finished last in the basketball and cricket events, and has some catching up to do with 18 points on the board so far.
This week, the Tiger combatants take to Gosch’s Paddock, for the soccer challenge, where they will come up against Melbourne Victory’s number one goalkeeper, Nathan Coe.
The episode was filmed earlier this season while Chaplin was nursing a calf injury. The key defender's hopes will placed in the hands of Rumble host, Matthew Richardson, who stepped in to take his place.
Check the Richmond website tomorrow, Thursday July 18, to see who triumphs in the fourth sporting challenge.
In the final two challenges, the players will try their hands at netball and NRL, with the help of the Melbourne Vixens and Melbourne Storm.
