Trent Cotchin’s classy snap against Carlton in the elimination final has been voted the fifth best goal of the year by Richmond fans.

Cotchin put the finishing touches on some repeated efforts by the Tigers’ forwards to lock the ball in the forward pocket late in the first quarter.

The Richmond skipper himself laid a strong tackle on Andrew Walker, Shane Tuck threw himself at the loose ball, before a chain of handballs under pressure from Shane Edwards and Daniel Jackson ended in the Cotchin’s hands.

Off one step, Cotchin curled a left foot snap through the goals at the city end to give the Tigers a nine-point lead.

The number four goal of the year, as voted by Richmond fans, will be revealed tomorrow, Tuesday, September 24.
