Richmond spearhead Jack Riewoldt attributes the Tigers’ recent form to a team-first mentality built on each player performing their role.
The Club’s last two wins have been achieved without a standout player, rather a contribution from each of the selected 22.
“I just think that everyone’s playing their role. If we can get the majority of our group on game day going in the right direction, whether it be possessions or just fighting and scrapping out on the field, it’s leading towards us getting the points,” Riewoldt said after last Saturday’s win over Adelaide.

“We saw two weeks ago against West Coast, everyone really stood up as a team, and I think you’d nearly tick off everyone today.
“We’re riding on 18 to 22 blokes playing their role week in, week out, and we’re getting the points for it at the moment.”
Riewoldt also pointed to a growing maturity within the group, which continues to develop as Richmond’s young players get more games under their belts.
“I think that’s probably a big thing we’ve taken out of today’s game. We kicked crucial goals when they got a couple in a row. Our ability to answer and get the two to three goals back and steady the ship was really important,” he said.
“Probably 18 months ago we would’ve maybe crumbled in the last quarter when they kicked the first two early ones. I thought that was a real positive for us.”
