With a 10th pre-season looming for Richmond star, Brett Deledio, it would be understandable if he was hoping for a longer break.
It’s quite the contrary, however, with the 26-year-old veteran of 195 league games jumping out of his skin to get stuck into preparations for the 2014 season.
Despite still feeling bitter disappointment at Richmond’s elimination final loss to Carlton, Deledio is extremely optimistic about the Tigers’ prospects for next year and beyond . . .
“This year, I was pretty excited with how we performed,” Deledio told ‘Roar Vision’.
“I honestly believe that we’ve got some great talent in our side. We’ve got some good young kids, but we’ve also got some good experienced players as well.
“The upside is that we’ve had a taste, and I’m really just hoping it makes everyone hungry, and want that again.
“I’m already itching to get back into training . . . I can’t wait, and speaking to a couple of the other boys, they’re just as excited, because if that’s what an elimination final is, imagine what a prelim. Or a ‘granny’ is.
“That’s what we’re looking forward to, and that’s what we’re striving for, which is the exciting part for us.”
