Richmond has secured the services of Carlton ruckman Shaun Hampson on the first day of the AFL’s 2013 trade period.
The Tigers picked up Hampson in exchange for a second-round pick in the upcoming National Draft.
Hampson, 25, is 201cm and 104kg, and has played 63 games and kicked 32 goals in seven seasons with the Blues, after being selected at pick 17 overall in the 2006 National Draft.
He managed only six AFL games in a 2013 season that was severely interrupted by injury (knee) and illness (appendicitis).

Despite his limited game time this year, Hampson was ranked sixth in contested marks per game.
"We identified Shaun Hampson as a player who will complement our existing ruck/key forward structure,” said Richmond’s List Manager, Blair Hartley.
"At 25 years of age we feel that Shaun's best football is ahead of him. Players over 200cm with Shaun's athletic qualities are hard to find.
“Over the past few years we have focused on recruiting players of great character and Shaun also fits this mould."
