Last year’s winner of the AFL Coaches Association’s Player of the Year award, Trent Cotchin, is making his move in the 2013 voting for the prestigious honor.

Cotchin, who polled a perfect 10 in Richmond’s Round 17 victory over Fremantle, picked up a further nine votes for his superb performance against ladder leader Hawthorn at the MCG last Saturday.

The star midfielder racked up a game-high 34 disposals, including a game-high 18 contested possessions and a game-high nine clearances to help lift the Tigers to a meritorious 41-point win.

Also polling nine votes for his inspiring efforts against the Hawks was key Richmond defender Alex Rance.

The 23-year-old kept dangerous spearhead Lance Franklin to just one goal, and he repeatedly repelled Hawk attacking thrusts with his elite interception skills.
