Richmond rising star, Nick Vlastuin, had no hesitation whatsoever in agreeing to the contract extension with the Club, which was announced early this week.

Vlastuin has had a significant impact in his debut season of league football, averaging 20 possessions per game, and receiving an AFL Rising Star nomination, so the Tigers were understandably keen to stretch his stay at Punt Road beyond the initial, regulation two-year deal for a young draftee.

Don’t miss getting a great seat to watch the Tigers play the Bulldogs this Saturday night at Etihad Stadium. Go to Ticketmaster to purchase tickets.

“My manager just said to me Richmond have put forward a deal, and I just said straight away, yeah, I’d be happy to take anything . . . I don’t want to go anywhere,” Vlastuin said on “Sportsday”.

“I just feel it’s great down at Richmond.  We’ve got a good list of players, so I just said to them straight away I’d be happy to sign.”

The talented teenager, known as “Tigger” since he was a toddler, has been a perfect fit for the Tigers, with his toughness, maturity, poise and vast football skills set.

He is thriving on playing in front of the large, passionate Tiger Army , and soaking up the atmosphere after a win.

“You put in the hard work all week and then to go out there and play well for the fans, your teammates and yourself, it’s just an unreal feeling . . . it’s hard to explain” Vlastuin said.

“Against Port Adelaide (in Round 7), when I was in the middle of the circle (post-match) . . . I have goose bumps just thinking about it, really.”
