Two Tigers shared top billing in the AFL Coaches Association’s Player of the Year voting for the Round 16 Richmond v Gold Coast match.

Valuable midfielder, Daniel Jackson, who is playing the best football of his decade-long league career, and key defender, Troy Chaplin, who has provided the Tigers with strong service in his first season at the Club, both received eight votes from respective coaches Damien Hardwick and Guy McKenna.

Jackson, with a game-high 16 contested possessions and eight clearances, along with Chaplin, who repeatedly repelled the Suns, were major contributors to Richmond’s crucial nine-point win.

Dustin Martin collected five votes for his hard-running, 31-disposal display, while Ricky Petterd picked up three votes in his return match from injury, for his bold efforts in the backline, and captain Trent Cotchin was given two votes for his relentless work in the midfield.
