If a week’s a long time in football, then a year is an eternity . . .

Take, for example, the changed face of the Richmond side that defeated Gold Coast by nine points at Cairns’ Cazalys Stadium last Saturday, compared to the Tigers’ line-up, which went down to the Suns in the corresponding match 12 months ago.

Just 10 players, who were members of the 2012 losing Tiger team against Gold Coast, saddled up for a crack at redemption in Round 16 of the 2013 season – Reece Conca, Trent Cotchin, Brett Deledio, Shane Edwards, Brandon Ellis, Shaun Grigg, Steven Morris, Chris Newman, Alex Rance and Jack Riewoldt.

Out of the side that lost last year’s game in Cairns by two points were Jake Batchelor, Matt Dea, Tom Derickx, Angus Graham, Bachar Houli, Addam Maric, Luke McGuane, Kelvin Moore, Robin Nahas, Brett O’Hanlon, Shane Tuck and Jeromey Webberley.

Replacing them were Matt Arnot, Troy Chaplin, Aaron Edwards, Nathan Foley, Daniel Jackson, Jake King, Ivan Maric, Dustin Martin, Ricky Petterd, Ty Vickery, Nick Vlastuin and Matt White.
