Richmond’s cheer squad made a substantial contribution to the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal held last week.
The cheer squad collected $13,235.15 by rattling tins at the MCG before the Tigers’ opening round match against Carlton, as well as at intersections around Richmond.
Richmond’s cheer squad has been collecting funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital since the 1960s, and this year’s total is the most it has raised.
Tiger players Steven Morris, Jake Batchelor, Trent Cotchin, Ivan Maric, Dustin Martin, Ricky Petterd and Gideon Simon paid a visit to young patients at the Royal Children’s Hospital on Good Friday.
Morris and Batchelor also spent time in the phone rooms, taking donations from callers at the Good Friday Appeal.
The Club also thanks the loyal Tiger Army for donating $817 to the RCH Appeal via Richmond’s Facebook and Twitter accounts.
