There are no long-term concerns surrounding any of the four players left out of this week’s Richmond side due to injury.

Captain Trent Cotchin (knee), Dylan Grimes (toe), Ricky Petterd (calf) and Ty Vickery (concussion) will miss the Round 7 clash with Port Adelaide at AAMI Stadium, but the Club is confident they’ll all be available for selection within the next week or two.

“Trent had a little bit of soreness during the week.  He did most of the training yesterday, but was just not quite right and, given the player he is, it’s going to make more sense to give him the extra week and get him right for next week,” said the Tigers’ Elite Performance Manager, Peter Burge, on the Musashi Medical Update.

“There’s no structural damage at all, just a little bit of soreness, which is just left over from the game (against Geelong last week) and he should be right to go next week.

“Dylan’s big toe was quite sore after the game, so it’s just altered his foot mechanics a little bit.  We need to get that right, given his lack of pre-season, and to make sure that he can get a full week of training in before he returns to play.

“Ricky has a bit of a calf strain, which should only keep him out for one or two weeks.

“And, with the AFL’s rules on concussion now, the medicos have had a good look at Ty this week and have ruled him out.  But he was able to do all the training Thursday, so we expect him back next week.”
