Richmond first-year player Cadeyn Williams is the first to admit he hasn’t had an ideal start to his AFL career.
The 19 year old, recruited to the Tigers in the 2013 Rookie Draft, was finding his feet in Richmond’s VFL side, Coburg, when he suffered a season-ending shoulder injury in Round 3, which required surgery.
Shoulder injuries unfortunately are not foreign to Williams, after an interrupted 2012 season in the TAC Cup.
“Having previously done my shoulder, I knew what I was in for, which is tough,” Williams told ‘Roar Vision’.
“I haven’t really had a good run of injuries of late. Hopefully next year I can string a few games together and play some good footy.”
Since surgery four weeks ago, Williams has been undergoing a rehabilitation program with Richmond’s fitness staff, using the elite facilities and resources at Richmond’s ME Bank Centre.
The Fighting Tiger Fund’s Patrons Program has been essential to bolstering Richmond’s football department, to provide its young and emerging players like Williams with expert coaching, development and fitness staff, equipment and resources needed to perform at AFL level.

Williams is looking forward to getting back to full training and returning to the playing field to continue his AFL journey.
“I’ve got some goals to set and obviously some milestones to tick off along the way. Hopefully I can get those done and play some good footy along the way,” Williams said.
