Emerging Richmond-listed forward Liam McBean booted six goals to help Coburg to a 16-point win over North Ballarat in the VFL on Sunday.

The 18-year-old took his season tally to 31 goals from 12 appearances, as the Tigers came from behind to notch their fifth win of the season.

After an even first three quarters, Coburg booted six goals to three in the final term to run away with victory.

Sam Lonergan’s influence in the final stages was telling, with the midfielder collecting 14 disposals and nine clearances in the final quarter alone.

He finished with 30 possessions – 21 contested – and seven tackles, in a best-afield performance.

Robin Nahas continued his impressive form at VFL level, winning 30 disposals, while Tom Derickx dominated the ruck with 60 hitouts.

Jake Batchelor was also a solid contributor with 20 possessions in the back half, while Aaron Edwards kicked three goals from 15 disposals and eight marks.
