Liam Baker will not play in Thursday night’s clash against Hawthorn, due to personal reasons, and is travelling home to Western Australia.
“Bakes has got a personal issue, so he won't play this week,” Richmond coach Damien Hardwick said on Wednesday morning.
“He's had a family issue he's gone home for, so we wish him and his family all the very best.”
Baker's absence will force at least one change to the Tigers side that drew with Collingwood last week.
Hardwick said Jack Ross and Oleg Markov are potential inclusions, while Josh Caddy is firming for a recall after calf soreness ruled him out last week.
"(Josh will) certainly put his hand up to play, there's a strong probability he'll come into the side," Hardwick said.
"He was stiff last week with that calf soreness and we thought we wouldn't take a risk."
Ross is a contender for the vacant half-back role having been trialled there at training, while Derek Eggmolesse-Smith will also throw his name into the selection mix.
Hardwick confirmed spearhead Tom Lynch would play after heading for scans earlier in the week.
