Nathan Gordon’s impact up forward has been another positive for Richmond throughout its resurgence over the past few weeks.
Gordon, who joined the Tigers as a mature-age recruit via the 2013 AFL National Draft, following a two-year stint at the Sydney Swans, has added a different dimension to the team’s forward line with his elite running ability, aerial strength and goalkicking prowess.
He scored the critical goal that regained the lead for Richmond late in last Saturday night’s epic encounter with Adelaide at Adelaide Oval (his second for the match), to follow on from the two vital goals he booted in the stirring victory over Essendon at the MCG a week earlier.
“’Dimma’ (Richmond coach Damien Hardwick) just wants me to work up the ground with my endurance, work my players into the ground, get back, take a mark, kick a goal,” Gordon said on RSN.
“I’m enjoying that position at the moment.
“I really like working my players into the ground, getting on the outside, and kicking a few goals.”
