Richmond unearthed some AFL Fantasy hidden gems, alongside some consistent performers, during the Club’s first official hitout of the pre-season last Friday.
The Tigers didn’t have a player exceed 100 points, but that was largely due to the fact they only had 263 disposals for the game, which was 105 disposals down on their season average in 2013.
Brett Deledio ($514,900) top-scored for the Tigers with 88 AFL Fantasy points. He played mostly at half-forward, but drifted more into the midfield in the second half. He finished with two goals from 16 disposals, but showed he will be very dangerous when resting forward.

Dustin Martin ($526,000) finished with 86 points, where he played mostly off the half-back flank. Damien Hardwick signalled the potential move earlier in the pre-season, but you’d also expect him to get plenty of playing time through the middle. He did manage to work up the ground anyway, racking up seven inside 50s.
New recruit Shaun Hampson ($294,100) was more than impressive in the ruck. He only played 44 percent of the game, but from that he scored 41 points from six disposals and 14 hitouts. Hampson has rarely been the sole ruckman in his career, so it’s hard to tell just how high his ceiling is, but the signs were positive. Ivan Maric is still working his way back from injury, so Hampson could be a good option to start the season.
Anthony Miles (279,700) was another new recruit to impress against the Demons. Miles is known to be a ball-magnet, and he showed that on Friday night. He scored 67 points from 16 disposals and two goals but also had an outstanding eight clearances. He has put his hand up to snare a spot on the senior list.
Sam Lloyd ($135,500) was impressive, and provided good energy when he came on. He scored 57 points from only 51 percent game time, which proves he has some handy scoring potential for someone so cheap. He gathered nine disposals, five marks and laid two tackles working in between the flanks, and up forward. The other new recruit from the National Draft, Ben Lennon ($233,100), played the game across half-back. scoring 34 points from 60 percent game time.

Ben Griffiths ($135,500) played as the backup ruckman to Shaun Hampson and Orren Stephenson. He scored 60 points from ten disposals, six marks, 12 hitouts and a goal. He’s another player vying for a round one spot, and at his price, you have to track him.
